This self-guided tour package is designed for families with children age 9 and under to enjoy an adventurous and satisfying hike together. The 60km trail is split into eight walking days, with an average of 7.5km to walk each day. Accommodations are in family rooms. Kids will love the excitement of climbing through a Roman aqueduct, catching frogs in creeks, swimming in the Sea of Galilee, and climbing the minaret on a historic mosque. Day 1: Arrival Day

Arrive in Nazareth in the evening and settle into the tranquil old-world ambiance of the Fauzi Azar Inn, a restored 18th-century Arab mansion, replete with painted ceilings and marble floors. Upon check-in you will be issued vouchers, entrance tickets, luggage tags, etc. and will arrange a time for your personalized orientation session with a Jesus Trail Tours staff member. Enjoy dinner at one of Nazareth’s many fine restaurants (not included in package cost). Meals included: none.

Day 2: Nazareth to Zippori – 7.8km

Enjoy the twists and turns of the Old City as you climb up to a ridge to see the path to Zippori spread out before you. Walk through fields full of diverse birds. Walk to your accommodations in Moshav Zippori. Meals included: breakfast. Note: some sections of this day have domestic and industrial trash along the trail; cleanup efforts are in progress. Please note that your accommodation in Zippori will be ROOM ONLY. However, there is a grocery store in the village where you can purchase your dinner and also breakfast for the following day. You can prepare the food in the kitchen provided in your accommodation, which also provides coffee, tea and milk. Meals included: none.

As you walk out of the second forest when leaving Nazareth, you will see a busier road (highway 79) right in front of you. From there you can already see the next point that needs to be reached, which is the junction that leads you to Zippori. In order to get there you need to walk to the right (immediately after coming out of the forest) along the highway 79. You then come to a junction with traffic lights. This needs to be crossed and you will be led to another road that goes underneath the highway. Following this road you come back to the Jesus Trail path including blazes.

Day 3: Zippori to Cana – 5.6 km

Visit Zippori National Park, with its exciting aqueducts, ancient mosaics, and a Crusader fortress with a view. Continue on your way through the small village of Mashhad to arrive at Cana, traditional site of Jesus’ first miracle. Visit the historical Orthodox and Catholic churches commemorating the water to wine miracle. Eat a home-cooked meal with your hosts. Meals included: dinner.


Day 4: Cana to Ilaniya – 10.5 km

Today’s walk is along a green ridge, with expansive views down to the valleys below – take in the beautiful landscapes from this great vantage point. Arrive at Ilaniya village and enjoy your stay at the Ilaniya B&B Pina Sejera. It’s time for some relaxation! Enjoy a private yard with lawns, wooden swings and a barbecue area. In the center of the complex, there is a beautiful private swimming pool, surrounded by comfortable garden furniture. Your Dinner today will be served in a beautiful and restored building. Enjoy the ambiance with an Israeli home cooked meal! Note: some sections of this day have domestic and industrial trash along the trail; cleanup efforts are in progress.

Day 5: Ilaniya to Kibbutz Lavi – 4.9 km

Rise early and make your way to breakfast – start the day with a healthy Israeli breakfast, complete with baked rolls, cheese,
vegetable salad, tuna salad, eggs, olives, jams, coffee and pastry. This shorter day includes a Roman road (optional) and a visit to a unique Orthodox kibbutz. Enjoy the swimming pool and lavish buffet dinner! A stroll through the rose garden is a great evening activity. Breakfast includes baked rolls, cheese, vegetable salad, tuna salad, egg types, olives, jams, coffee and pastry. Dinner included – Shakshuka, homemade pastries (quiches or other baked goods), baked rolls, tehina, vegetable salad, cheese, coffee and cookies. Meals included: breakfast and dinner.

Day 6: Kibbutz Lavi to Nebi Shu’eib – 6.1 km

After a filling buffet breakfast, walk out through fields to the stunning views from the Horns of Hattin, site of a decisive Crusader battle. On a clear day, the snow-capped peak of Mount Hermon is visible to the north. Look back to see the buildings of outer Nazareth showing how far you have come! Descend the horns to visit Nebi Shu’eib, the holiest site for the Druze religion. Visit the tomb of Jethro, father-in-law of Moses, and take a break at the picnic area. Meet your shuttle to drive to Moshav Arbel for an overnight in the oasis of Holiday Homes, with Jacuzzi, pool and home-cooked meals. Meals included: breakfast and dinner.

Day 7: Nebi Shu’eib to Arbel – 9.6 km

After sumptuous shakshuka in Israel’s kitchen, take the shuttle back to Nebi Shu’eib to walk Arbel Valley. Pass the ruins of Hittin’s mosque; the minaret can still be climbed and jasmine trees leave a sweet fragrance. The valley route travels through ancient olive groves, and passes a spring and creek where wild raspberries can be found. Save energy for the climb back to Arbel for another relaxing night at Shavit’s guesthouse. Meals included: breakfast and dinner.

Day 8: Arbel to Ginosar – 9.2 km

Start early for the stunning morning light from Arbel Cliffs. Carefully descend the steep trail down the mount, passing ancient cliff dwellings and caves. Drink from the fresh spring at Wadi Hamam before continuing to Ginosar via rolling agricultural land. Swim in the Sea of Galilee! Stay at same accommodation for nights 8-9 (Ginosar or shuttle to Karei Deshe) Meals included: breakfast and dinner.

Day 9: Ginosar to Capernaum – 6.0 km

Explore the mosaics at Tabgha, the traditional site of the feeding of the 5,000. Continue around the northern side of the Sea of Galilee to visit the church of St. Peter. Ascend a small ridge to visit the Mount of Beatitudes, the traditional site of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. Finish your journey at Capernaum by wandering the ruins of the city that was the center of Jesus’ ministry, and spending a moment of prayer in the church built over the home of Simon Peter. Meet the shuttle for transportation Ginosar or Karei Deshe for overnight along the Sea of Galilee. Meals included: breakfast and dinner.

Day 10: Departure Day

Enjoy breakfast in your atmospheric surroundings then continue on to your next destination.
