Jordan River

The Yardenite baptismal site along the Jordan commemorates the place where Jesus was baptized by John (Matthew 3:13). Many Christian pilgrim groups pass through the baptismal compound and descend into the Jordan River to be baptized.

You can also find for sale every type of biblical kitsch, from vials of Jordan River holy water to Jerusalem snow globes to “Scents of the Bible” perfume sets. The compound also includes very clean bathrooms with shower facilities for 1 shekel per person.
