The modern town of Migdal is situated near the traditional site of Magdala, the town of Mary Magdalene, a follower of Jesus. The name Magdala comes from the word for “tower” and probably referred to towers used for drying fish caught in the Sea of Galilee. Magdala was also known by its Greek name, Taricheae.
Located in Migdal is Beit Bracha, or a “house of blessing” – a guesthouse and prayer center, under jurisdiction of CMJ – a missionary order, established to spread Christian teachings among Jewish people, offering meals and hospitality in a relaxed and spiritual atmosphere.
